Our instrumentation effort focuses on the development of gaseous detectors for various applications. Our main emphasis is on Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) and Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detectors, in particular Gas Electron Multipliers (GEMs).

We are involved in the following projects:

  • CMS experiment
  • CALICE Collaboration
  • RD51 Collaboration
  • Muography
Prototype of a fast-timing micro pattern gas detector
Assembling GEM detectors inside the Ghent cleanroom.
